I'm originally from Santa Ana, El Salvador, but I've been living in the United States since 1994.
Since arriving here, I've worked in just about every type of job you can imagine — from taco stand helper, cashier, receptionist, and sales associate in retail, to construction worker and even data analyst. You name it, I've probably done it.
But in 2012, I made a bold decision: I started my own cleaning business with nothing more than a broom, a mop, some cleaning products… basically, whatever I could find under my sink.
Wanna hear a story that has its ups and downs but ultimately leads to massive success? Buckle up and listen closely. This is how I went from a total financial disaster to generating millions in sales with my cleaning business.
My story starts back in 2012. I was a single mother of two and needed a way to provide for my family, so I started cleaning homes on my own. At first I had no experience, no manuals and no idea where this venture would lead me. But I’d always dreamed of financial freedom and giving my children a better life, so I launched what would become Cris’s Cleaning Services.
Those early days were rough. I made plenty of mistakes and quickly realized how much I didn’t know about running a company. Instead of getting discouraged, I made a determination to work hard and gain knowledge from coaches, mentors and hours of self‑learning. I immersed myself in labor laws, payroll and workers’ compensation, and applied the work ethic I’d honed while earning multiple degrees. With every lesson learned, my business steadily improved.
As we grew, I still had setbacks—taking on side ventures that drained our savings and created unnecessary stress. When those didn’t pan out, I doubled down on what I knew best. I learned to live by a budget, hired virtual assistants to keep operating costs low and built systems so the business could run without me. We even developed video training for our cleaners. Most importantly, I focused on delivering efficient, affordable service tailored to each client and maintaining the reputation that kept new customers coming.
By systematizing the company and continually investing in my own education, I transformed that rocky start into a multimillion‑dollar business. Today I work only a few hours per week, enjoy quality time with my family and travel freely, knowing the business keeps running.
What’s the moral of the story? Anybody can build a successful cleaning company if they’re ambitious and willing to put in the work. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what your education level is.
You need an “I can do it” mentality, 100 % responsibility and the discipline to invest in yourself. If I can do it, you can too..
My journey didn’t begin with a polished business plan – it began out of necessity.
In January 2012, I was a single mother with two young children and no financial safety net. I needed to provide for my family, so I picked up a mop and started cleaning homes on my own. I focused on delivering high-quality, affordable service tailored to each client. Word spread quickly. My dedication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned me referrals, and that one-woman operation grew into what is now Cris’s Cleaning Services, LLC.
My background fuels my drive. I immigrated to the United States at age twelve without knowing a word of English. Not only did I learn the language, but I went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Leadership, and a Master of Public Administration in Healthcare. That combination of grit, education, and purpose shapes how I lead my company today. I invest heavily in my team, enforcing strict standards through background checks, E-Verify, drug testing, and hands-on training. We don’t just clean homes—we protect our clients’ trust.
For me, success isn't just about revenue. It’s about creating opportunity. It’s about building a team, supporting families, and delivering reliable service to my community.
As the company grew, so did the demand for guidance. Clients, aspiring entrepreneurs, and even competitors began asking how I built such a resilient business. I started producing training videos to share my systems. That quickly evolved into one-on-one coaching and eventually the launch of my own business coaching program—designed to help others scale their cleaning companies with the same structure, integrity, and discipline I used to scale mine.
This wasn’t part of my original plan, but it perfectly fits my philosophy. I’m always searching for ways to optimize—whether it's through technology, marketing, or systems. For me, personal growth and discipline are not just buzzwords—they are the non-negotiables that turned my sense of urgency into a seven-figure company.
And now, thanks to the business I built from the ground up, I have the freedom to travel the world—without ever putting my family or my legacy at risk. That’s the power of doing the work, staying focused, and never giving up on yourself.
In my own words: “Self-development and discipline triumph every time.” That belief drives everything I do—and it's the foundation of the mentorship I now offer to others walking the same path.
